Strong growth expected through the end of 2007

According to Triple Tree, a research and investment company, the spend management sector is projected to grow to $17b in 2007, which is 14% annual growth since 2003. The research points to some interesting conclusions:

Privately-held, Best of Breed Specialists are Leading the Way. The Spend Management market and specifically the “best in class” providers of software and services will prosper as more organizations seek to gain additional leverage out of existing technology investments and extend these existing capabilities into sustainable cost saving mechanisms. Probably the biggest obstacle to growth for these privately-held companies is the ability for the marketing message to be properly communicated and fully understood by the end-users that still remain cautious about new IT investments. In the end, Spend Management is poised for continued prosperity in an industry and among end-users that demand a strong ROI-based value proposition with proven, tangible results.”
