Aberdeen Group wasn’t the only vendor to conduct a recent study on On-Demand in the Supply Chain / Supply Management space. AMR Research also conducted a recent study, although theirs was broader and not as deep on the elements that attract users to on-demand or the benefits such solutions offer. For those of you who have not yet downloaded Aberdeen’s recent On Demand Supply Management report, we invite you to do so now.
In brief, the AMR Research Study, summarized on Supply Chain Brain, found that 21% to 23% of large enterprises in their survey are now interested in SaaS or hosted deployment, up 15% to 17% from last years responses. They also found that 30% of small and midsize companies are now considering hosted or SaaS solutions. These findings mesh well with Aberdeen’s findings that 44% of large companies and 30% of mid-size companies plan to try on-demand solutions for 2-3 years and then re-evaluate.
Additonally, Forrester recently released research data about Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) which also gives positive feedback regarding adoption and growth. For more information about SOA, wikipedia has a good description.
