Overall impressions from the AMR conference

I have to say, this is a top notch event. There are a lot of people (~500, instead of my original thought of 2000), the presentations are very professional and the facilities are tremendous. I am involved in our user conference and know how much work this, so it impresses me greatly. You can also see how the efficiency and logistics are almost perfected, after years of hosting the event at the same location.

I am hoping I receive an electronic copy of the presentations, some were very good. There is a very heavy focus on supply chain with all the topics, which is dwarfing strategic sourcing. However, it is still very interesting and today we have break outs all morning which will get more specifically into supply management.

I have met a good number of people, and got to spend about an hour MNR, which is always nice to do. Overall, it has been time and money well spent. With calendars that are packed, 100s of emails per day, and a never-ending list of strategic projects, it is easy to disregard the importance of these types of events. I am glad I stuck to my plan and attended, it was certainly worth it, to this point.
