European reSource – Iasta user conference
October 22nd, 2008 at 04:20am David Bush - Iasta
On Tuesday, I was in attendance for our bi-annual user conference. This one takes place in the UK to collaborate and assist our European client base. Our central location in London is based on the fact that over half our Euro buyer users are located across the UK. As a side note, coming to London for this event is a great opportunity to remind myself that this is one of the best cities in the world, and the competition is not even close. London is fantastic in so many ways, that it makes travel from such distance, a much less stressful and difficult task.
The conference itself was very well attended (70% increase from last year) and like all our user conferences, we focus on operational best practices and ROI from our application. This is very different from other software conferences that focus on upselling the client base. Our operations managers were running multiple simultaneous workshops on strategy and basic training for users that are both novice and advanced. These are very interactive and productive as users from across industries get to discuss topics and details.
In the afternoon sessions we had break out round table sessions, a presentation from Royal Mail about Iasta optimization services and a wrap up from me regarding industry trends and Iasta directional strategy.
All in all, I was really happy with the sharp increase in attendees, as we filled two large rooms in a major conference center. In this economic environment, many companies have frozen travel or non-budgeted expenses. Having this many people taking time from daily work is a commitment to Iasta and eSourcing.
